Embark on a masterful 8-bit Metroidvania adventure in Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap for the Sega Master System. After striking down the fearsome Mecha Dragon, our hero is cursed and transformed into a fire-breathing Lizard-Man. You must explore an interconnected, monster-filled fantasy world to find the magical Salamander Cross and lift the curse. This beautifully designed action-adventure platformer features an ingenious transformation mechanic, where players switch between distinct animal forms—such as the wall-climbing Mouse-Man, the swimming Piranha-Man, and the flying Hawk-Man—to access hidden areas and overcome specific environmental puzzles. With tight controls, wonderful character designs, and RPG-lite equipment upgrading, it stands as one of the absolute best titles on the console. Master your new forms and break the curse.
